Key Initiatives and Focus Areas

1.Ibogaine and Psychedelic Research:
KRFI conducts clinical trial to investigate the effectiveness of ibogaine (a naturally occurring compound from the African iboga plant) and psychedelic entheogenic medicines ranging from psilocybin (the active compound in psychedelic mushrooms) in treating opioid use disorder (OUD), substance use disorders (SUD), TBI, PTSD, and Parkinson's disease, and other mental health conditions. The institute aims to provide scientific evidence for these substances' therapeutic potential through comprehensive mechanisms of action and biomarker research.

2. Private Public Sector Partnership for Opioid Abatement Matching Fund (OAMF):
KRFI is actively engaged in a strategic effort to secure funding for opioid abatement** programs through PPP models for sustainable access to psychedelic therapies. This includes leveraging state-level funding to develop and implement evidence-based solutions for addiction treatment.

3. Global Collaboration for Health Equity:

5. Clinical Trial Innovations:
KRFI is engaged in clinical trials for its flagship products, Endabuse® and Remogen®, aimed at addressing addiction and neurological conditions. These trials will provide medical evidence for ibogaine and psilocybin treatments, paving the way for new, non-addictive therapies.

6. Sustainable Development through PPP for ibogaine and psychedelics:
KRFI advocates for the sustainable development of natural products by working with indigenous communities in a transparent and fair sustainable partnership. The institute supports the development of supply chains for plant-based medicines, ensuring that the local communities have a direct stake in the economic benefits derived from the global demand for these therapeutics.
